Cristina was born in El Jícaro, El Progreso, Guatemala. She first came to the United States in 2007 with her parents and younger sister. Her transition from one country to another allowed her to see different cultures, ideologies and lifestyles; which is what started her passion to make the world a little better. She believes everyone deserves an equal opportunity to succeed in life as well create a better life for them and their love ones.
Cristina graduated with an advanced Studies Diploma from Altavista Combined School, in Altavista, Virginia. She was part of the Girls Soccer Club, Honor Junior Society, Spanish Club, and Latin Club. Then Cristina attended Lynchburg College, where she obtained a B.A. in International Relations.
Cristina worked in the restaurant business since she was 16 years old. She is the mother of a young daughter, Sofia, who is the reason Cristina continues to pursue her dreams, to give her daughter the best life she can. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, explore new places, watching sports such as soccer, basketball and football, and learning about new cultures.
